Corrective Exercise & Prehab in Fort Lauderdale, FL
Move Better. Recover Faster. Feel Stronger.
Pain often comes from how you move: muscles that are too weak, too tight, or not working together the way they should. Corrective exercise at Coast 2 Coast Sports Medicine targets those problem areas to fix the root cause of pain, improve posture, and help your body move the way it was designed to.
Facing surgery? Our prehabilitation (“prehab”) programs get you stronger before your procedure so you can recover faster afterward.

What Is Corrective Exercise?
Corrective exercise is a targeted exercise program designed to fix the specific muscle imbalances, weaknesses, and movement problems causing your pain or limiting your movement.
Instead of generic workouts, every exercise has a purpose. We might strengthen weak glutes that are causing knee pain, loosen tight hips that are straining your low back, or retrain shoulder muscles to fix posture problems from sitting at a desk all day.
Corrective exercise can help:
- Reduce pain caused by poor movement patterns
- Improve posture
- Restore balance between tight and weak muscles
- Increase stability and functional mobility
- Lower your risk of future injury
Prehab: Getting Stronger Before Surgery
Prehabilitation, or “prehab,” is exercise therapy you do before surgery. The stronger and more mobile you are going into surgery, the better you’re likely to come out of it.
Benefits of Prehab
- Stronger muscles and better mobility going into your procedure
- A lower risk of complications after surgery
- A shorter, smoother recovery
- You learn your post-surgery exercises ahead of time, so you’re ready on day one
- More confidence and less anxiety about what’s ahead
Common Surgeries We Help Patients Prepare For
- Total knee and hip replacement
- ACL and meniscus repair
- Rotator cuff and shoulder surgery
- Spine surgery
- Ankle and foot surgery
After surgery, our team can continue with your post-surgery rehab, so you’ll have the same therapists from start to finish.

This was my third time here and I returned for a reason. Kris has the best staff, they're very personable, and most importantly they're extremely detail oriented towards your needs. This time I had some tightness in my back and by the end of the session, it was gone. The machine they placed on it was top notch, and the work they did (cupping and massage) on my tight areas felt amazing. Confident in saying this was the best physical therapy session I've ever had.Posted on Google![]()

Corrective Exercise FAQs
What's the difference between corrective exercise and a regular workout?
A regular workout builds general fitness. Corrective exercise targets the specific weaknesses, imbalances, and movement problems that cause your pain or put you at risk of injury.
When should I start prehab before surgery?
Ideally, 4 to 6 weeks before your surgery date, but even a few sessions can make a difference. Talk with your surgeon and give us a call.
Does insurance cover prehab?
Many insurance plans cover physical therapy before surgery. We’ll verify your benefits before your first visit.
How long until I see results from corrective exercise?
Many people feel a difference within a few weeks. Lasting changes in posture and movement usually take consistent work over 6 to 8 weeks or more.
Can corrective exercise fix my posture?
Yes. Strengthening weak muscles and stretching tight ones can greatly improve posture and reduce the neck, shoulder, and back pain that comes with it.
